RCIA Journey
in Faith
If you would like to know more about the Catholic Church, a
new RCIA journey in Faith course will start on October 14th.
If you are interested in any aspect of the course please take
an information sheet from the back of church or alternatively

Friends Events
- Dates for your diary
The Cathedral Friends have arranged the following events for
later in the year:
- Theatre Royal
A fascinating tour 'Behind the Scenes' at The Theatre Royal,
Newcastle has been arranged for Wednesday 5th November.
- Local Choirs Concert
A Concert by the popular Felling Male Voice and Low Fell Ladies
Choirs will take place in the Cathedral on the evening of
Saturday 8th November. They will perform a range of music
to suit all ages and tastes and a donation from the proceeds
will be made to a Children's Cancer Charity.
Konevets Musical Quartet
The Konevets Musical Quartet take their name from the Konevets
Island and Monastery, near St Petersburg. They are a Chamber
Choir with a fused harmonic sound and perform primarily Russian
Sacred Music. They will be performing in the Cathedral on
the evening of Thursday 27th November, tickets priced £7
and £5 (concessions).
Please note the Local Choirs Concert and Konevets Musical Quartet
are open to all, and further details/ticket prices will be available
nearer the time. |

Extraordinary Form of the Mass
There will be a celebration of Mass according to the Extraordinary Form of the Roman
Rite (Missale Romanum 1962) in the Cathedral on Saturday 13th September at 6.00pm.
This Mass, celebrated in honour of Our Lady, is in thanksgiving on the occasion
of the Fortieth Anniversary of the promulgation of Pope Paul VI’s Encyclical
'Humanae Vitae.' All are welcome.
A Celebration Dinner to mark the 40th Anniversary
of Humanae Vitae will take place following the Mass. Tickets
for the Dinner, which will be in the Assembly Rooms, Westgate
Road, are £25 including welcome
drink, four course meal, bar, and distinguished guest speakers.
